Job profile

As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be part of our operations team. In your role, you will work closely with your colleagues within operations. This department is led by our Teamlead Datacenter Operations.

In this role, you will be a key player in Bytesnet’s data centre services. Achieving the agreed results with our customers on time and in one go is the foundation of our business.

To remain at the forefront of our service to our clients, the organisation is constantly improving. Proactively helping in improvement/development processes is your second nature. Thanks to the short and direct lines in the organisation, you know how to find your colleagues quickly and work together on concrete goals.

What work will you perform in this role?

• Delivering customer racks. This includes setting up customer racks including power supply and cabling activities.
• Smart hands activities for customers within the data centre.
• Running inspection rounds and initiating necessary follow-up actions.
• Ensuring that the data centre is always neat and tidy.
• Receiving and guiding visitors on the data floor, including the access procedure.
• Minor repairs and maintenance to the data centre.
• Providing input for (customer) reports, invoicing and audits.
• Participating in a rotating breakdown service of the operations team.

What do you bring?

• MBO4 diploma/work and thinking level in the field of ICT and/or electrical engineering.
• You enjoy dealing with customers, are service-oriented and have a representative attitude.
• You can work accurately and understand the importance of procedures to ensure service continuity and safety within the data centre.
• You have a hands-on mentality. You enjoy being versatile.
• Sufficiently technically literate to understand the installations and technical operation of a data centre, on the basis of which external parties can be adequately managed or to perform (minor) technical work yourself in the field of electrical or cooling technology.
• You are a real team player.
• Experience within IT environment is a plus’.
• Experience within a data centre is a big plus’.
• You have relevant training for data centre environment (CDCP, VCA, cabling certificate) or are willing to obtain it. You are willing to invest in keeping your knowledge up to date.
• You have a good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
